All versions of JAW; 1.03, 1.04, 1.041, support daisy chaining of upto 4 LED Displays. Only 1.041 has the circuitry for EGT so displaying EGT will only work for 1.041.

You will need Firmware 1.11 or later for daisy chaining displays.

The first LED display unit in the chain will show AFR/Lambda, the 2nd Display in the chain unit will show EGT, the 3rd Display in the Chain will show Positive boost pressure, the 4th Display in the chain will show RPM.

Currently there is no customization of the Display order possible. If you want to Display RPM, then you will need to hook up all 4 displays. If you want Boost then you need to hookup 3 display units. If you want EGT then you need to hook up 2 display units.

For EGT you will need an EGT probe, http://14point7.com/forum/index.php?topic=23.0

For Boost, only a GM 3BAR MAP sensor is supported currently, you will need to hookup the sensor to the "Voltage Input 2" port of JAW.

Info about connecting daisy chained displays to JAW 1.041 is in the "JAW 1.041 Hardware User Manual" which is included in the latest deployment package.

Info about connecting daisy chained displays to JAW 1.03 is here, http://14point7.com/forum/index.php?topic=176.0

Nice work.  Is the display order a limitation of the firmware or software?

The Display ordering is primarily a firmware issue, it will be implemented in the next firmware update. Right now I hope most people do not have an issue with the ordering as I ordered the displays in order of what I think is most important.

Sounds about right. Most people have boost gauges, and RPM.. well.. you can see that on your instrument cluster and if you don't have one, most people have aftermarket ones.  AFR and then EGT seems to be the way to go.  Good job. Smiley

Are other map sensors supported yet? I saw in another thread someone was going to use this http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=MPX4250AP-ND. Also, would a 2 BAR gm MAP work? I won't be running more than 12psi so I don't really need a 3 BAR.

I inadvertantly ordered 2 displays also along with my 2 kits ending up with 4 displays ...can the firmware be changed to allow both units have afr and boost as the second in the chain rather than egt second ?

I could change the display orders by using JAW Edit ver1.15.  Cheesy

But the refresh rate cannot be set below 4Hz. it is too much fast for RPM display in my case. Roll Eyes

I want to use a single mini potentiometer for adjusting the brightness of three displays. I have a 10k ohm .05w mini volume control I picked up at Radio Shack that I think should work. How would I want to go about wiring it up though? Should I run all three wires from each board to the pot or should I only run one power wire in and three out or what? Will the .05 watt pot be enough? Can I run a higher resistance for a dimmer display? Thanks for any help.

I never tried it, I do not know if it will work or not.

0.05 w should be ok.

Higher resistance = dimmer display

The pot I used works great. I tried a few different combinations of wiring and found two successful methods. You can wire all three boards to one potentiometer exactly the same as if it were on each board OR it can also be wired up to just one line from the left-most leg (closest to the LED display, probably the power feed) with the other two legs connected to each board and work fine. I'm wiring mine to all three points on each board. With the pot I selected the displays are a little bit dimmer which is great for night driving but they still get plenty bright for reading in direct sunlight.

Thanks Smiley I'd still like to see more software upgrades for adjusting the displays and adding vacuum to the boost display. Thanks for the great product though Smiley

Boost and EGT not working ? I also second display 4860 shows
In version 1.161 AFR works fine, RPM shows a lot more and meaning is unstable, EGT, and the rest is not working
I tried version 1.18
RPM - excellent, EGT - does not work, Boost - there is something similar to the real data but is very unstable, AFR mostly normal but there is no correspondence tables in version 1.161 so cannot use this version

Alan - when will update to stable version ? a must see EGT instead of these numbers 4860 ...

The firmware 1.11 in JAw deploy 1.61, it the best firmware to use.

If the RPM is unstable there is a POT you can adjust on the PCB which will make RPM smoother. Start by turing it to the most counter clock wide position possible, slowly turn the clockwise and see it that make a difference. Do not turn it all the way clock wise as it may damage the rpm pickup circuit.

EGT is always showing 4860, it never changes?
